With two locations, we deliver all over the city, and, with the largest public walk-in cooler, we offer an absolutely stunning selection of fresh flowers. We also love spreading our passion for what we do. Our locations feature Design Your Own Stations with helpful hints on how to express yourself through the beauty of floral arrangement.
EVERYDAY FLOWERS
Because we believe flowers should be an everyday part of your life, we try to make getting them as easy as possible. Visit our stores for fresh Grab & Go bouquets or pre-arranged designs for work and home. Or, we offer same-day delivery throughout the city. As a convenience, we set up individual accounts for our customers. We can keep a credit card on file if you so choose, and can even pre-plan your needs by keeping a “Forget-me-not” calendar of important flower events for which you know you will need our services.
WEDDINGS
Of course we “do weddings.” We can help you as much or as little as you need. We have a breadth of traditional to modern designs for your bouquet, the reception, and everything in between. Although we provide various services, at the end of the day we remember that we're first and foremost a florist. We take our flowers seriously. THE COOLER
We are very proud of our walk-in cooler–the largest cooler open to the public in Birmingham. Fresh flowers arrive daily from all over the world. We have the most variety you'll find, with roses as low as 57ç a stem to stunning cymbidium orchids. We also keep pre-made arrangements for your last minute needs. Don’t forget to ask about the special bunch prices as well!
DESIGN YOUR OWN STATIONS
In our Design Your Own Stations you will find:
• Plenty of space to create your own arrangements
• Access to an inspiring inventory of flowers, containers and various supplies
• The assistance of our designers if you find yourself stumped by the process.
FIRST THURSDAY
The first Thursday of every month at noon and 6:00 p.m., we have a free instructional demonstration of floral design at our Design Your Own Station in our Homewood location.

TIPS
Our designers have spent years learning their art. But that’s not to say that one can’t create a beautiful arrangement with just a little guidance. Here’s a handy reference to help the uninitiated create beautiful, personal expressions in floral arrangement.
Style-
The style of your arrangement is driven by how it will be used. If the arrangement is a gift, you will want to think about the person to whom you are giving. Are they very conservative in their style? Is this person fashionable? Do they like antiques or contemporary furniture? Answering these questions will help you figure out what they might like in a flower arrangement. If the arrangement is not a gift, what is its purpose? How big is the space where it will sit? If it’s a centerpiece, will people be looking under it or over it in conversation?

PLANTS
We are proud to offer a wide range of plants. Our full-time plant designer receives weekly deliveries, including seasonal offerings such as poinsettias, amaryllis, hydrangea, azaleas, daffodils and bulbs. Our signature Dorothy McDaniel arrangement is the Euro-Garden, which uses these blooming beauties along with great foliage plants. It's appropriate for any occasion!
SEASONAL GIFTS
Whatever the season, we're prepared to compliment your floral gift with a little something extra. Our designers keep our shops well-stocked with beautiful decorative items, indoor and outdoor wreaths, aromatic candles, baby items, plush toys, and tasty treats.
PAPER FLOWERS
“I want a simple yet lovely card, but it is not to be found!” How many times have we heard this?! Using her collection of antique tussie mussies as an inspiration, Dorothy and Sarah Scholl sought a local artist to bring an idea to life. The result is a line of blank notes and enclosure cards that are not only lovely, but appropriate for any occasion. The cards are $10.99 a box for the large cards, and $7.50 a box for enclosure-size cards.
ABOUT DOROTHY
Dorothy Sarris McDaniel is the owner of Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market in Birmingham, Alabama. Although she holds a degree in criminology, she has made her career in professional floral design for more than 29 years. A veteran broadcast spokesperson and public speaker on the topic of flowers and flower arranging, she has appeared over the years as a regular guest demonstrator for the Macy's, Rich's and Saks Fifth Avenue department store chains and has been interviewed by many newspapers, radio stations, and television programs. Her popular floral designs and advice on flower arranging have appeared on the pages of Southern Living, Southern Accents, Cooking Light, Creative Ideas for Living, and Portico magazines. Her "Design Your Own Station" column is a regular feature in Southern Lady magazine. Although flowers are her life's work, Dorothy still finds time to pursue her other passions: fly fishing, upland bird hunting, opera, reading, and cooking.
